This post is a continuation of our most recent collaboration with SF Goodwill. It is probably the most layered of all the looks we put together for this series of posts. It is also probably the furthest removed from typical California fashion, but that is why it is so much fun! As someone far removed from East Coast prep school and equestrian culture, I have always found this style compelling.
This look started with a serendipitous find at the Haight Street Goodwill store. The Ralph Lauren crest blazer is a wardrobe classic and something we had been hoping to find for years. Just search for it on Pinterest and you’ll quickly see some of the brand-defining, iconic imagery we’re talking about. But finding items this specific is far from easy. For things like this, you don’t hunt, you wait. Which is why it’s all the more important to search the racks thoroughly when you visit Goodwill!
What completed this outfit was another preppy staple, a lovely cream colored Lacoste sweater vest found at the Goodwill boutique in West Portal. This is the place to shop if you’re a fan of brand name clothing in pristine condition. Lacoste doesn’t appear to be selling new sweater vests right now, but considering their t-shirts start at $50 and sweaters start at $100, this vest for $15 is quite a steal!
